Sunny Summer Slush

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that this Sunny Summer Slush is one of my favorites. When we were growing up, my mom would make this yummy frozen treat for us on some of the hottest summer days. I made up a batch for my family just this week. Gather up your ingredients and pop a batch in the freezer so you're ready for the next heat wave!

Ingredients for Frozen Summer Slushie

  • 5 Bananas (fresh)
  • 3 Peaches (fresh)
  • Pineapple Juice - 46 oz can
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar (or adjust to taste)
  • 1 12 oz can frozen lemonade (thawed)
  • 2 12 oz cans frozen orange juice (thawed)
  • Sprite, gingerale, or soda water
You'll also need a freezer-safe container or containers. I divided mine into 3 rectangular 9.5 cup reusable plastic containers. My mom used to use a 1-gallon ice cream pail.

How to Make Frozen Slush

Mix up bananas, peaches, and part of the pineapple juice in a blender. Add to water and sugar. Stir to dissolve. Add the lemonade, orange juice and remaining pineapple juice. Stir well. Pour the mixture into your freezer-safe containers and freeze.

Mix up a batch of Sunny Summer Slush for hot summer days. One of our family's favorite recipes!

To serve: scoop into glasses and add a little sprite or other carbonated mixer. Enjoy! It's so refreshing on a hot day!!
