Summer Watercolor Printables

Simple seasonal prints add a quick and easy update to shelves or mantel decor. I shared my newest watercolor-inspired printables as a part of the Celebrate Summer series on Today's Creative Life earlier this summer. If you haven't had a chance to stop over and get your copy, I'm sharing them here today.

If you've been here before, you've probably noticed I love to craft, but most days I'm a photographer at heart. I'm happiest when I find ways to blend the two pastimes:)

Today I'm sharing a two summer watercolor-style printables with you that I created by editing a couple of my own photos from years past. One of the things I love most about digital photography is the freedom and tools to create a new image I can use in decorating or crafting that might look or feel completely different from the original photo, but is still my own vision.

Print out your favorite summer image and grab a clipboard or frame and few accessories for a quick summer update that will be easy to swap out when the seasons change. I found a sailboat to pair with the lakeside photo of adirondack chairs and some marbles and an over-sized jack for the bucket and shovel picture. I chose a black clipboard in place of a frame.

I also love this bright white Hammermill paper for color printing. For at-home printing jobs, I've been using a Canon Laser Printer.)

Wasn't that any easy update?

To create these summer images, I used a watercolor photo-editing app on my phone called Waterlogue, but many photo-editing programs have a variety of artistic filters and settings available. Experiment with some on your own photos and see what awesome art you can create using your own snapshots as a starting point. Adding text to your photos can be another fun way to create unique images for scrapbooking and social media. Most of all, have fun creating!

I hope you enjoy the free summer printables, and perhaps I've inspired you to try some creative photo editing of your own. I'd love to see what you come up with!

As always, I love to share my work, but personal use only please. For any other use, please contact me.

These watercolor summer printables were first shared with Today's Creative Life readers on June 24, 2016.

  1. Those are too cool, I thought you painted them. I've been playing with Prisma app for my own photography. Much faster than Photoshop, lol.
