Around our house, we often start decorating for Christmas over Thanksgiving (or at least that's when I think about it). More often than not, the first things to go up are the wreaths on the front of the house. I've always loved the look of the traditional green and red wreaths against the grey and white of our house. And, once snow starts to accumulate on them, it's almost picture-perfect:) I snapped some photos during a pretty snowfall a few years ago, and I used one of my favorites to put together this Shadowbox to add to my holiday decorations this year.
Supplies Needed for Christmas Shadow Box
- Square Shadowbox Frame (I found mine at Michael's. It's 10" x 10")
- Faux Snow (I used vase filler from Target.)
- Snowy Wreath Photo printed to fit your frame (Download Wreath Printable Here)
I used a photo-editing program to crop my photo and add the word "merry" in white. I thought the text added just the right pop to the photo. If you try this project with a photo of your own, consider adding a holiday word or message to the your photo.
Print and trim your photo to fit your frame. After cleaning the glass, add some snow to the bottom of the box and reassemble the frame. I found that some errant pieces of snow stuck to the glass, but I think it adds to the charm.
Mix in a few Christmas accessories on a shelf, and you've got a lovely holiday vignette. Or this would make a lovely holiday gift for someone special...
Thanks for stopping by today!
